WGTN is the defacto station for Georgetown. Being Georgetown's oldest station. WGTN is known as Georgetown's Heritage Station. Licensed in March of 1948, and began broadcasting in June of 1949. WGTN Radio Georgetown's first station operates on 1400 at 1000 watts both day and night. WGTN is now broadcasting from our all new digital, generator ready transmission facility on McDonald Road. First, we are the only station that concentrates our core business to the needs of our community and to Georgetown County.
